I decided to start using lines again...I'm not used to it so I ended up just painting everything on the same layer, as usual. But I'm starting to pull the stick out of my butt when it comes to line thickness, so I think this is an improvement on my style, overall...actually I was looking at $y2jenn's stuff and got inspired to make some big bold moves
Her name is Amie, one of my characters for the Thorns RPG. Sorry about the watermark. oh - and a note for those interested...I've been doing a series of these for my game. If you like creative writing and roleplay and want to be in the beta, please let me know, I'd like to draw you guyses' characters. (You guyses'? Is that correct? Ya'll's?) |

Looks awsome, wouldn't have guessed it was all in one layer! I usualy work with hundreds of layers >_<
I used to work with a ton of layers but it made everything so confusing and slowed my machine down...I definitely recommend cutting back, it did my art a world of good!
(By the way your floating head avatar looks eerily like me)

And yeah, I am a layer "wh*re" and I should cut back, guess I'm just so used to being able to go back or delete parts of the piece I don't like. I even sometimes catch myself ,when drawing on paper, looking for the back button
*grins* The evil float head hauuunts you...! *evil grin*
I typically have two layers at most.. one for a sketch, one for the background (though I sometimes assemble the background first and then add a character or something). Lately I've just been painting on top of a sketch. It's insane how much time it saves not to have to switch between layers
