How wonderful! I love the spirits, but I think my favorite part is the tiny bright-white sprites - I used to see those in my backyard as a kid. Come to that, I finally saw one again yesterday!
You're probably getting a lot of people who think kitsune because: 1)You gave the piece a name with "fox" in it 2)You gave the spirits tails that are highly reminiscent of fox tails 3)You made them all pretty young women 4)A lot of people here are fans of anime, where kitsune are frequently referred to or present (being a Japanese fairytale creature)
this is amazing! It has great colors and balance. I like that the girls don't stand out too much from the rocks for some reason. makes it seem like you constrained your values when you obviously used a wide range of values lol I don't know what I'm saying. The plants and rocks are super amazing, and the poses are very fluid and natural, but I would say that the girl in the back has a bit of an awkward position of her head.
It's crazy to see how much you improve in each piece!
Hmm, I find the girl-spirit's tails to be very interesting... most people would use a catlike tail, but yours look more like horse tails. This is a gorgeous painting, it's hard to find anything about it I don't like
Vargr is the word for were worlf....kitsune pronounce kit soon ay. is meaning were fox. witch matches your apearance in a partial morph. they prefer femine qualities if not female form. elfin like forms. that is why.
You have this amazing ability to create atmosphere. Just so you know. It's pretty much awesome.
The girls are quiet beautiful. I think the front one is my favorite, but I think it's because it looks like the most work was put into her. Her tail is especially exquisite, I love looking at those strokes! I'm not sure how much I like the blushy fingers; they look a bit out or place or maybe just too strong?
The farthest spirit girl (I assume they are kitsune?) looks a bit awkward anatomically. Mostly around the hip and leg region. I think it's that big gap between her legs that's doing it. Though it could just be the kind of "neuter" look she has. I can't exactly pin it, sorry.
I really like the long legs, but I feel like the arms don't exactly match? That might just be personal preference. I don't know, I feel like you could've exaggerated other parts of their anatomy besides the legs.
I love the back on the girl facing away. So smooth, yet there is a good amount of internal anatomy showing. I think you balanced it really well (instead of making her look like a muscle builder on one spectrum or a doll on the other... if that makes sense). I like that she's interacting with one of those.. glowy things, too. Adds interest, I think.
That background is hella-tight. I can't think of any more appropriate word, haha. I love how smooth the rocks look, but I think the moss could use a bit more rendering in some places. The waterfall is very good! I'm jealous, I have never been able to do such a nice waterfall. I think the vegetation all works very well, nothing much to say there.
Oh wow, I just noticed how the hair on the front girl kind of falls over her left arm. It just suddenly caught my attention haha. I love small little details like that so much though!
I'm the same way.. which is why I like to hear critiques thanks for the link! I made these things up for my fantasy world.. they're servants of the moon, sent down to spread moonlight. they're called the phaenir.
Oooh cool! :u I love hearing about original things like that much more than seeing reworkings of the same mythical beast stock, haha. Does your fantasy world have like.. any kind of hum... how to say this.. like stories or other works or anything? Or is it just one of those things that come out of your head slowly?
Oh wow, I didn't know Thorns was so fantasy-oriented. For some reason I thought it was like... strictly realism in a Victorian/steampunk setting or something I don't know haha. I think I'll have to take a closer look at it now, haha.
