i had to read your journal to get updated on this whole thing! how in the heck did i miss this...i check my deviantart at least 2x a day! where can i see other people's versions? everyone in your comments keep saying yours is the most creative, but it's the first one iv seen so i cant really say (i do like the allusion to the jam-spreading idea though, clever!)

The symbol is one of the Nine Helms of Ægir (the Jotun of oceans). It's an ancient rune meant to be written on the forehead as protection from the power of others, esp in battle.
