This was a labor of love!
Her name is Maere and she's a friend of mine on WoW. Her character sings at our tavern, and is first mate aboard a pirate ship. She's also an absolutely wonderful writer and her work inspired me to paint this. I know that anyone who knows anything about ships could find a dozen things wrong with the anatomy of this rigging, but dammit, I know nothing about ships and I'm quite happy in my ignorance! Finally, I'm breaking away from lineart, my Achilles' heel. It was my crutch for too long! Painting just feels so RIGHT to me now. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
