I'm doing a "bettering myself" project where I try to fill in all my apparent portfolio holes. This is for the class Senior Project, but I planned on doing it anyway. Hopefully by the end of the semester I can finish these six pieces, spending a good amount of time on each one, to complete my portfolio.

Projects:

1. Movement (this one)
2. Creature Design
3. Architecture and Perspective
4. Vehicle Design
5. Environment/Cityscape
6. Lighting and Interior
7. Character Interaction

I spent about 6 days on this painting. At first the composition was unclear, but I like how it turned out. These are two galdori (sorcerers) from my online RPG, Thorns: Uprising.

Before I read you artist's comments, my first thought was that this looked much more dynamic than your previous work, especially the man in the foreground. Your pieces are always beautiful portraits, but this seems much more like a "moment in time" so I'd say the exercise was a great success!

I like the poses, lighting, and their expressions. They're very.... well, expressive XD
I like the character designs as well, great picture :D

Haha.. I hear that word a lot and I have no idea why. "creamy" or "milky" alternatively. I don't get it! =p

About the only thing unsettling about this is the negative space in the upper right corner - I think making the cropping a wee bit closer would tighten this up a bit. But then again, it's a very free and flowing scene, so who knows.

Overall it's a really great work. Bravo on the dynamic poses and the color scheme, especially! ;)
