I think the reason this picture struck me is the fact that the tree seems to be looking for something. it leans forward as if trying to see a distant object

I love the flow and smoothness! :love:
It reminds me of the dreamy style of the artwork from "The man who planted trees".

this is absolutely gorgeous. the colors are just fantastic and I love both the smooth and very textury coloring to this, and also the sense of movement in this is great. [:

Ohshit so pretty ;w; <3 I love the colours and how they fade and the brush strokes and well damn everything C':
I also find it incredibly nice to find someone else who uses Painter, we aren't so many 8D ... I seem to be the only one who finds Painter X easier to handle than Photoshop though lol D:
(I haven't got a hundredth of your talent though u__u)

I have Painter, but this is probably the first serious painting I've done in it. It's a little baffling after 11 years of Photoshop! But it is wonderful.. very natural and responsive. I was tickled pink that the brushes can pick up surrounding colors and swivel with the tilt of the pen.

very nice. i like the leaves in the tree, well done. what kind of tool did you use for that?

I laid down my basic colors beforehand, then used an oil pastel brush, size 11.3, and picked up the color and dabbed it on again.. it took a while but I kind of like the effect. It is a bit messy though.

i love the colors and the textures on the tree
such a whimsical atmosphere! ^^
and i really like the layout of this picture. the technique you used (blurring the bg, the placement of the tree) gives a great sense of depth

i m sorry for my horrible english...but i cannot really concentrate, it s so damn hot >_<
^^;

keep up the great work!

I love the gradient of colors and the way the brush strokes looked, it makes me think of a Safari or something of the like. It looks fantastical and so smooth and flowing.

I took one look at the brushes in Painter Essential (which is like a limited version of Painter) and was like 'Fuck no, that's like an acid trip. Shutting this down.'

They're all based on natural brushes.. they even have "artist brushes" that create a similar brush stroke to famous artists like Sargent and Van Gogh.

I didn't either, this was pretty much my first time using Painter and it's a totally different program. But for this I just picked three colors I liked and slapped em down and they became a tree after a while =p
