So...uh...yeah, I've managed to save enough for a wedding, so the man and I will probably be...you know. Marrying. Soon.

It seems way more real now than it did when I got my ring. O_O I'm sort of freaking out, actually.

I mean, I don't really think of myself as mature. There's an image of me somewhere on the web circa highschool where, mohawked and be-sport-jacketed, I am engaged in some kind of ritual dance with an inflatable plastic Halloween mummy at Ukrops. It's one of the only images available of yours truly, which is why I uploaded a new one on my web-cam just to prove that I'm not crazy all the time.

Then again, I have been sharing an apartment with Nick for the better part of three years. Living in sin has taught me to be a real live grown-up in ways college alone could not and was not expected to. For instance, the dude has really smelly socks. I mean JEEZ. These are weapons-grade stinky. I had to actually buy him an entire pack of new socks because the washing machine spat his old ones back out.

I guess I'm not a total baby.

We got Scrabble yesterday and so far I've beaten him four times. He tried to use the word "cous", as in half of "couscous." He also tried "maiz" (a truncated Indian word for corn) and "moxy" (I think he was going for "moxie"). He managed to get away with the word "oi," apparently under the guise of an interjection. I made him regret it by using it at every opportunity.

The game has some kind of fatal flaw in that it overemphasizes the importance of the letter "I" in the alphabet. There are, I believe, 9 I's in the letter bag. I seem to end up with all of them. And you cannot use words that must always be capitalized, so I can't save myself with the name of some obscure Japanese or Polynesian island.
