It's been 5 years since I joined deviantart with this account, as of august 30th! I remember it was `jasonvelocity who convinced me to join back when I was just getting interested in digital art. It was definitely one of the factors in my pursuing communication arts as a career, and my own style has evolved partially because of influences I've discovered on this site. I've also met a ton of friends here. All in all, it was a good move and I don't regret a thing
Also I am surprised to find I'm almost at 400k pageviews O_O I won't offer a kiriban this time because I never end up having time to do them, but I wonder if the ding will coincide with my anniversary.
Still looking for somewhere to go once I leave college.. if I continue to improve I might (miiiight) be good enough to work for WotC, but I doubt they'd hire me right now. Still I think I could probably find work at a younger company. Trying to remain optimistic about it
Also, once I'm more freed up, I'm doing serious thinking about pursuing Madland in a formal way. My style has changed a lot since starting the comic, so I'd probably have to start over again, which I wouldn't mind too much. I'm still "mad" about the story (har har chuckles) maybe more so than any I've ever written, probably because I would get to draw a lot of kids fighting each other, monsters and dinosaurs, etc.
anyway that's all the news from the home front. back to work!

If I was you, I'd pester Green Ronin to let you join...since they're a company devoted to RPGs, it's perfectly possible to show off your work on Thorns. And they could always use good artists. It could also be that WotC is falling out of favor with me...and GR is rising because of Dragon Age: Origins...but, ultimately your choice.
Five years, eh? I think you should select a very old piece from five years ago and redraw it to see the difference. I love seeing how my favorite artists have evolved.
And, here's to another five or so years on DevArt!
Oh, Madland. I took a peek at it just now (I wonder why I haven't seen it before?). Awesome!
As for putting thorns on a resume... I'm not sure, but since you've been in an organizer's position the whole time as well as founding the project, you should be able to use it somehow. I'd talk to the school Guidance office about it, but in the meantime putting it in your personal/hobby section definitely works.
