Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Bronies go nuts, and Nintendo Sucks?Equestria Girls
The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

I'm so close to graduation I can taste it! And I am getting very nostalgic about school. I feel like I squandered a lot of my time here. I could have been making more friends and enjoying myself...instead, I bogged myself down with work and stress and made things more difficult than I had to. Seriously, I went to a grand total of like 10 parties in 5 years, and had issues signing up for classes EVERY semester

But I don't regret it, because I am happy with my body of work, even though I'll never be fully satisfied with myself. Looking through the things I produced over the last few years, I was able to find a lot of stuff to include in my book (with a few tweaks). Even though I didn't have the typical college experience, I think I did a good job in the end.

When I started out, I was so sure I would HAVE to go into fine art. When I finally let go of that pressure I began to explore aesthetics purely for aesthetics' sake, and I got into commercial art just for the love of finishing and polishing work. Somewhere along the way, completely by accident, I managed to find my own voice. I discovered what I was really passionate about and my work reflected it eventually. I didn't have to go looking for myself or anything...it just happened naturally.

So I just now realized that, basically...compiling my book made me realize what strong connections all my pieces have to each other in spirit and style. It was something I hadn't even noticed until now. And it feels good to see that, finally

I truly believe everyone has something important to say and art is just one language we use to get that stuff out in the open. It's not bad to be interested in the technical side of art because it's like becoming fluent. You don't expect babies to write poetry when they're learning the difference between hat and cat.

I can't believe I've almost been on this site for 6 years! dA has seen me through my entire artistic career. I remember when I first posted a thread on the forums exclaiming happily that I got into art school. (I also remember some people telling me to shut up and stop posting dumb topics. hehe) My earliest works are seriously horrifying to behold, which is why I hid most of them, but I might post some later for your amusement.

On the lighter side of the news, *AbigailLarson and I are going to work on a collaboration to commemorate our graduation

Congrats! Honestly, the REAL "college experience" would have gotten in the way of your work. It's probably better this way.

I've heard plenty of horror stories from my friends.

I'm hoping to get into art school. Alot of stuff got in the way when I graduated last year (money, job, family) but hopefully I'll make it there soon.

Just out of curiousity, what school are you graduating from?
